RESPONSIBILITIES: |

We have an exciting opportunity for an A&D Engineer on our team. Mancal Energy Inc. is a well-established oil and gas company with a proven track record of successful exploration and building core operating areas through organic drilling complemented with strategic acquisitions. We are currently in the process of transforming our business with the goal of being one of the most effective and sustainable producers in the industry.
The A&D Engineer will be responsible for coordinating with other members of the Business Development team to understand the risks and potential for future development. Using data room and industry data, the successful candidate will build production and cash flow models, and work with internal groups to understand the corporate impacts of the acquisition and asset integration. Based on the technical analysis, bid recommendations will be created and presented to the Senior Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the following:
- Work within a multidisciplinary team environment dedicated to targeted corporate and asset related acquisition projects.
- Attend various A&D processes and evaluate data-rooms for acquisition potential.
- Leverage large data sets quickly and efficiently to form technical opinions on the quality of acquisition opportunities and their historic performance.
- Complete detailed opportunity analysis of the reserves including reservoir performance, capital efficiencies and support for both undeveloped and upside locations on various focused oil and gas assets in Alberta.
- Utilize Val Nav software to create development models and economic analysis scenarios to help determine appropriate risk levels, capital requirements and bid recommendations.
- Collaborate with Geology, Land and Finance staff to build recommendation presentations, outlining the technical merits and corporate level opportunities/risk and bid level justification.
- With support from the VP of Engineering, deliver and defend recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: |

To meet the challenge of this role, we are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, self-starter who works well in high levels of autonomy.
- B.Sc. in Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Proven and demonstratable track record of acquisitions accretive to the shareholders.
- Strong data analytic, evaluation expertise and presentation skills are required.
- Experience evaluating/modeling Alberta conventional and unconventional assets.
- Direct business development/corporate development exposure with experience running asset level and corporate level financial analysis.
- Solid understanding of reservoir engineering.
- Highly competent with respect to economic decision making and risk analysis.
- Expertise with Val Nav evaluation software and COGEH reserve evaluations.
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint software skills.
- Proficient with GeoSCOUT.
- Communicate highly technical details effectively and succinctly both verbally and written.
- Current membership, in good standing with APEGA as a P.Eng.
