RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Mancal Energy Inc. (MEI) has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Senior Mineral Land Analyst.  The successful candidate will be a collaborative member of MEI’s Land team, responsible for analyzing, interpreting, updating, and maintaining MEI’s land records associated with a recent acquisition. You will work closely with the contracts, land admin and finance teams to ensure data integrity is upheld. 

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accurately analyze land contracts and/or mineral leases ensuring accurate interpretation, set-up and compliance with royalty terms and permitted deductions under various agreements including: Farmout and Royalty Agreements, Unit Agreements, Mineral Leases and Production Allocation Agreements.
  • Confirm CS Land is set up correctly as to HZ wells and allocations.
  • Input, review and update contracts and related mineral lease data in CS to ensure accuracy of MEI's working interest and royalty interests.
  • Complete title review and curative work on contract and mineral leases as required.
  • Link wells to the correct mineral leases, contracts, and/or unit agreements, allocate the well spacing, and ensure all royalty information is interpreted correctly for MEI’s PA group.
  • Act as a resource for royalty and working interest information and related issues for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with contracts, land admin and finance teams as well as other internal and external personnel as required.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum ten years of related mineral land experience in a contract analyst role.
  • Expertise in royalty interpretation and the relationship among mineral leases, contracts, and wells is essential.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of CAPL documents.
  • Experience working Alberta assets with respect to land contract agreements, well spacing regulations, and production allocation processes.
  • Required Microsoft Office skills include Word and Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using CS Land is required.
  • Experience using Geoscout, StackDX, PetroNinja, Optix or Qbyte Exchange is a definite asset.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to deliver quality results with a high attention to detail.
  • Capacity to be both a cooperative team member and a self-starter.
  • Graduate from recognized land program or a comparable combination of education and experience.
